Solar Panel Installation Components

Solar panel systems are widely used all across the world as an alternative energy source for electricity. It is clean and environmental friendly technology that do not require any fuels. With the following basic solar panel installation components, you can safely run a solar panel system:

  • Solar panels
  • Batteries
  • Inverter
  • Solar panel mounts
  • Optimizers
  • Disconnect switch
  • Monitoring system
  • Charge controller

Solar Panels

You know, solar panels are sure to make a solar panel system. They are the basis of any solar panel system. Solar panels are present in different ranges of watts such as 150 Watts, 200 Watts and further big like 3000 Watts and so on. You can get solar panel of any desired value of wattage(Watts).

So if you are going to install a solar panel in your house, first thing you will need is a solar panel to convert solar energy into useful electrical energy which will give a very big relief. See Prices of Solar Panels in Pakistan.

Batteries

The second important component of a solar panel system are batteries. Batteries store the additional electricity produced by solar panels and serve as a power house for any backup at night or in bad weather conditions. You can use this stored energy for many purposes as for lighting your houses or in summer if you have a big battery package, you can also use this energy for running air conditioners. In short, you can use the battery energy for almost all purposes which I would not be able to explain.

Inverter

The third important component of a solar panel system is the Inverter. An inverter is a device that converts the DC power into AC voltage that you can use for all kind of electronics. Inverters are very important in a solar panel system as a chain is required to run a bicycle. Inverters keep your electronics safe by managing the output of solar panels.

Solar Panel Mounts

Solar panel mounts are the structures that hold your solar panels tightly to keep them towards the sun and to protect them from bad weather conditions for example if the air is blowing too fast, it may take your solar panels with it or damage them, but if your solar panels are resting on the mounts, they definitely will not go anywhere.

Optimizers

A solar optimizer is basically a power point tracking device for each individual solar panel. It takes the DC power generated by your solar panel, optimizes it with MPP technology and then sends that DC power to the inverter inside your home.

Solar optimizers are great because they will manage the power of each individual solar panel independently. So if one of your solar panels gets shaded partially, it will not affect the production of the rest of the system. But if one optimizer gets shut for a long time, it will put extra stress on the inverter and may shortens its life.

Micro inverters are also used in place of optimizers but the largest ones are only 250 watts. So if your solar panel is of 280 or 300 watts, then optimizers are the only option.

Disconnect Switch

A disconnect switch is basically a heavy duty light switch or you can say it a breaker. The purpose of this switch is to break the incoming and the outgoing connection or in simple, it breaks the wire connection between the solar panels and the inverter.

They are widely used in most installations not because they are largely required but also are the safest and best practice. So they provide safety and convenience.

Monitoring System

A monitoring system is a system that is installed with your solar panel system. It determines the overall performance of your solar panel system on the basis of various data such as in bad weather conditions or on a sunny day, it tells the input/output power, production, usage, and loss of power produced by solar panels.

Well, monitoring system is very great and good because you can know whether your system is running well or there is a fault in it somewhere by comparing the capacity of solar panel system and the numbers shown on the monitoring system. The monitoring screen might be your smart phone or a LED TV installed in your house.

Charge Controller

A charge controller or charge regulator is a device that keeps a balance between voltages or current or in other words, It’s a device that regulates voltages or current going to batteries produced by solar panels and protect the batteries. According to experts, this device must be installed as a protection against any unexpected problem and to safe the money spent on the solar panel system.

Conclusion:

With the above listed components, you can safely run a solar panel system without any fear. Moreover, there are many additional components that you can use for the smooth working of your solar panel system which we will explain in the next article after some research.
